Many veterans come home, but never fully land.
Less than 1% of Americans serve, yet they carry the weight of protecting all of us. When service ends, many return home with invisible wounds: PTSD, anxiety, depression, moral injury, isolation, and the loss of built-in community.
They don't need pity.
They need purpose.
They need a place to breathe.
• Thousands of veterans are lost to suicide each year.
• Many more live quietly with PTSD, anxiety, and isolation.
What We’re Building
Beloved Roots Ranch is a future retreat property designed for veterans who need space to rest, reconnect, and rebuild. Some will come for a few hours. Others for a multi-day stay. The goal is simple: a safe, welcoming place to exhale and move forward.
What veterans will find here:
-
Grounded Warriors Equine Experiences (offered now through partner facilities)
-
Nature-based restoration: trails, quiet spaces, and intentional time outdoors
-
Companion animals on the property, including dogs that bring comfort and calm
-
Small-group retreats and veteran-to-veteran connection
-
Space for reflection, creativity, and meaningful routines
-
Overnight accommodations as the property and build plan allow
This is not a clinic. It's a community.
Where we are today
Beloved Roots Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the build stage. We do not yet own land, but we are actively pursuing property and funding to establish our first permanent location in East Tennessee.
In Fall 2025, we launched our first Grounded Warriors Equine Experience, serving a small group of women veterans in an intentional setting focused on calm, connection, and reflection.
This early work is the beginning, not the finish line.
Phase I: Land acquisition and core infrastructure fundraising is currently underway.
The Long-Term Vision
Beloved Roots Ranch will be a permanent retreat property in East Tennessee where veterans can step away from noise and reconnect with strength, purpose, and community.
When fully realized, Beloved Roots Ranch will be a permanent refuge where:
• Veterans connect with horses and rediscover trust
• Quiet wooded trails offer space to breathe and reflect
• Shared meals rebuild community
• Small cabins provide restorative overnight stays
• Companion animals are part of daily life
This is not a treatment center.
It is a place to land.
